DETAILS
Harvest
15–25 October 2025
Early harvest, hand-picked using rakes and nets.
Tasting Notes
Green fruit · fresh herbs · green notes · balanced bitterness · bright spiciness
Polyphenols
553 mg/kg (high)
Sensory Profile (jury expert)
Fruitiness 6.5 · Bitterness 4.0 · Pungency 6.0
Climate Profile
A cooler, more stable year with moderated humidity and fewer rainfall spikes. Cooler nights slowed fruit metabolism, yielding a fresh, well-defined oil with green aromatics and a clean, pepper-driven finish.
Varietal
Estate-grown Aglandau, cultivated across fifteen hectares in the foothills of the Luberon.
Terroir
Our trees grow in a protected valley of the Luberon, where limestone soils, Provençal light, and prevailing winds shape the flavour of the olives. This environment gives Artemis its green aromatics, balance, and naturally high polyphenol content.

PRESS
VOGUE · "While France isn’t known for its olive oil, with most of what’s consumed imported from Spain or Italy, the Vaucluse region is home to a handful of producers crafting in small quantities. Among them, Domaine de la Cavalerie is the standout. The estate’s 5,000 olive trees produce an organic oil that was named the best in France last year, a bottle coveted by chefs and culinary insiders alike." — Monica Mendal
T MAGAZINE · Featured in the 2025 Holiday Gift Guide "The French brand’s olives come from a Provence grove that was first planted by the fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro; his daughter Cosima co-founded La Cavalerie in 2023, and its organic oil, packaged in an elegant canister, is newly available in the United States as of this fall." — Mackenzie Oster
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL · "It’s a precious, safe gift. One of my absolute favorites is La Cavalerie." — Ignacio Mattos
M LE MONDE · "La Cavalerie, at the foot of the Luberon, also cultivates the frankness of the fruit. Its green oils—often bold and decisively peppery—capture the liveliness of olives harvested at precisely calibrated ripeness. The estate firmly embraces its rural origins and family identity." — Lionel Paillès
NEPTUNE PAPERS · "When the couple took over the estate in 2019, they planted more olive trees (bringing the total to around 5000) and in 2022, they launched La Cavalerie olive oil – a vibrant, fruity extra virgin olive oil with a peppery finish – that has gone to win a number of awards, becoming a firm favorite of restaurants such as 19 Saint Roche and Le Doyenné in France and beloved by chefs like Laila Gohar and Ignacio Mattos." — Kin Woo
REGAIN · "An early harvest in mid-October, when the olives are still green and intense (…) This precocity yields a vibrant oil, rich in polyphenols – sometimes twice the Mediterranean average".— Daphné Hézard
MILK DÉCORATION · "A must-have… vibrant green fruitiness with notes of artichoke and raw almond." — Laurine Abrieu
