Emanuel Ungaro made the 160-acre valley his Provençal refuge, returning after Paris fashion weeks to work, receive, and spend time away from the pace of the shows — tending the land, shaping the gardens, and filling the house with objects gathered over a lifetime.

Today, the estate is shared much as it was lived. Meals shape the day, prepared by the estate kitchen under the direction of Bernardo Costantino, and served across settings that shift with the moment, using collections built over generations.

At its centre, La Source forms an open-sky space for water and heat — a spring-fed basin, sauna, cold plunge, and outdoor shower set within the landscape.

La Cavalerie is conceived as a single private estate, with one kitchen and one team supporting the life of the house across both residences. In select seasons, La Bergerie may also be experienced independently.

THE FULL ESTATE

LA COMMANDERIE

LA COMMANDERIE

At the centre of the estate, La Commanderie anchors the life of the house — a 12th-century former Knights Templar commandery restored by Emanuel Ungaro as a place for gathering.

Seven bedrooms, for up to fourteen guests.

Across its salons, dining rooms, and terraces, the house moves naturally from morning into evening, structured around meals and shared time.

Interiors reflect Ungaro’s sensibility for proportion and material: a Venetian staircase, reclaimed Italian marble, hand-painted ceilings, and monumental fireplaces.

The former chapel adjoins the house, used throughout the day for dining, music, or quiet moments.

Below the southern terrace, a 25 x 3.5m freshwater swimming reservoir is set into the landscape, organically filtered and integrated into the valley.

THE HOUSE

LA BERGERIE

LA BERGERIE

Set just beyond the main house, La Bergerie extends the life of the estate — offering a more open and contemporary way of living alongside La Commanderie.

Four bedrooms, for up to eight guests.

Originally a 17th-century farmhouse, it has been reimagined as a space centred around the kitchen, the landscape, and sound — where the rhythm of the house shifts and expands.

The house opens outward — toward a 21 x 10m freshwater swimming reservoir set within preserved stone walls, and an amphitheatre terrace used for meals, screenings, and gatherings.

Inside, contemporary pieces sit alongside Ungaro’s collection. The main living space is conceived as a dedicated listening environment, developed with John Storyk and equipped with handcrafted Burmester systems — a place where sound is experienced differently, shaping the atmosphere of the house as day moves into evening.
